The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation has informed that the import of Armenian agricultural products to Russia can be restored, provided that mandatory requirements are met and the safety of imported products is ensured.

The Russian Ministry stated that a key condition for the restoration of imports of restricted products is the assurance of the safety of agricultural products, including the use of local raw materials by Armenian producers, control over pesticides, traceability of supplies, and adherence to other mandatory standards.

This announcement was made following a meeting between the head of the ministry, Oksana Lut, and the Minister of Economy of Armenia, Gevorg Papoyan, during the VII session of the EAEU Council on Agro-Industrial Policy taking place in Almaty.

Lut emphasized the primary importance of compliance of exported products with the EAEU phytosanitary and veterinary norms.

The Russian side stressed the necessity for the unconditional implementation of existing regulations and the development of a clear mechanism to ensure the safety of exported products.
