Dust, Untreated Areas, and Uncovered Sand Piles: Yerevan Construction Sites Fined 1.7 Million Drams
The Environmental and Mining Inspectorate has conducted oversight measures in Yerevan aimed at preventing air pollution and reducing dust emissions from construction sites. Inspections were also carried out based on citizens' reports. This is reported by the Inspectorate.
During the inspections conducted from July 27 to August 13, violations of atmospheric air protection standards were registered at several construction companies operating in different administrative districts of Yerevan.
In particular, some construction sites failed to use dust emission control devices during grinding operations, areas were not regularly watered under positive air temperature conditions, sand piles were not covered with impermeable material, and necessary fencing was absent.
Violations were recorded at companies including “METTA GROUP,” “POSTERUM,” “ML MINING,” “AVA HOLDING 2017,” “VB CONSTRUCTION,” “360 PANORAMA,” “PRETOR,” “BIDEEK,” “BIPLAN,” “ORD DEVELOPMENT,” as well as at “ZEYTUN SANITARY” LLC and under Ara Levon Ter-Minasyan.
Administrative reports have been prepared regarding the identified violations, and legal actions have been taken against the offenders as per the law. The total amount of fines imposed on the operators amounted to 1 million 700 thousand drams. The Inspectorate indicates that oversight measures will continue.
“Dear citizens, if you witness similar situations, please send videos and relevant information to the Inspectorate via our Facebook page or call the hot line at 119. Your reports are important for the rapid detection and prevention of environmental violations,” the message states.
