Anna Vardapetyan Appeals Decision in Favor of Archbishop Mikayel
The Chief Prosecutor of Armenia, Anna Vardapetyan, has submitted a cassation appeal to the Court of Cassation against the decision of the Court of Appeal on June 25, 2026, regarding Archbishop Mikayel Azhapahyan.
Expressing disagreement with the decision of the Court of Appeal, Vardapetyan has sought to overturn it.
The ruling issued on June 25 lifted the house arrest imposed on Archbishop Mikayel of Shirak. The Court of Appeal had overturned the initial judgment, and the case was sent back to the primary court of general jurisdiction in Shirak Province for a new examination.
