Iran on the US and Israel: They Are the Main Destabilizers of the International Order

The United States and Israel are the primary factors in the erosion of the normative system based on the UN Charter, stated Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghaei.

The diplomat shared excerpts from UN Secretary-General António Guterres' speech during the Security Council meeting on July 23 on social media. He noted that the head of the global organization pointed out the alarming trends of violations, impunity, and the escalation of conflicts on the international stage.

According to the statements quoted by the UN Secretary-General, there is a disregard for international law, impunity is on the rise, and the lack of response to violations creates fertile ground for new illegal actions. Guterres also highlighted that the refusal of parties to negotiate in favor of military solutions leads to dire consequences for civilian populations, which is exacerbated in the Middle East, where the region is caught in a vicious cycle of escalation.
