Macron Reveals What He Discussed with Iranian President, Makes Announcement
French President Emmanuel Macron has shared details about his phone conversation with Iranian President Masoud Peyzeshkian.
“I just had a conversation with Iranian President Masoud Peyzeshkian. I expressed my serious concerns about the ongoing escalation and condemned the unjustified attacks on UAE's civil infrastructure and several vessels. All parties must immediately and unconditionally lift the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. It is necessary to return to a regime of complete freedom of navigation which was in place before the conflict,” wrote Macron.
According to the French leader, an international mission to ensure security in the Strait of Hormuz would be neutral and could help restore confidence among insurers and shipowners. Macron noted that the preliminary deployment of the aircraft carrier 'Charles de Gaulle' in the Red Sea was carried out in this context. He also added that he plans to discuss similar mission prospects with Trump.
