No One Has Forgotten 1988, When the World Stood Up for You, Armenia: Macron
French President Emmanuel Macron expressed gratitude to the Armenian people for the warm welcome he received during his state visit to Armenia, following a concert titled 'Musical Bridge: Armenia-France' held in Gyumri.
Macron remarked that no one has forgotten the disaster that occurred in December 1988, when France stood by Armenia's side. 'No one has forgotten 1988, when the world stood up for you, Armenia. Charles Aznavour sang, France rallied, and over 500 firefighters, soldiers, and rescuers came to your aid, and Gyumri was reborn. We know all the difficulties you have faced in recent years. Just as we were by your side in December 1988, we will be by your side now. Thank you, Gyumri. Thank you, Armenia. Long live Armenia, long live France, and long live Gyumri,' said Macron.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan noted that the concert in Gyumri is the last event organized as part of the French president's state visit.
