Video: Many in the Diaspora Want to See Historical Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan
During the "Yerevan Dialogue" forum, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia made parallels between the views of the diaspora and the current reality of Armenia. He noted that the Armenian diaspora is an important tool, but it is essential to understand that they are citizens of different countries and may have differing opinions.
According to the minister, a significant portion of the diaspora consists of descendants of survivors of the Armenian Genocide, many of whom want to see a larger, more glorious, and richer Armenia with a magnificent past. Mirzoyan emphasized that today that is but a dream and does not represent the real Armenia where we live.
“Many diaspora Armenians think they want to see a larger Armenia, a historical Armenia, one that has had a glorious and rich past, but today that is already a dream; it is not the real Armenia... We live in this specific region today, in this region with these specific neighbors, and we do not want to live our next decade, the next century, the next millennium fighting with our neighbors, causing more casualties on the battlefield,” said Mirzoyan.
