Lavrov's Joke About Armenian Radio
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov referenced diplomatic methods in a recent interview with public television, recalling a joke about Armenian radio.
“You know, if we delve a little into the realm of humor, remember that there were several jokes in the Soviet Union about Armenian radio. Armenian radio was asked, ‘What is diplomacy?’ The response from Armenian radio is (there are several variations, but the most decent one is this) – diplomacy is the art of sending a person to the right place but doing it in a way that he eagerly awaits the journey. This can also be included in the arsenal of diplomatic methods. There’s nothing unusual in that,” said Lavrov in the interview.
