Tunnels Discovered at the Foot of Ararat: The Daily Mail
A team of American researchers working near Mount Ararat has uncovered evidence of hidden tunnels, as described in biblical accounts. This was reported by The Daily Mail.
Andrew Jones, an independent researcher from the Noah's Ark Scans project, has identified a network of "corridors" leading to a central empty chamber using ground-penetrating radar (GPR). Jones referred to this section as the "atrium." According to the researcher, this structure corresponds to the biblical description, which states that the ark had three levels intended for Noah's family and animals.
“These voids are arranged in a specific pattern, they are not random natural phenomena,” noted Jones.
In addition to radar research, the team also employed infrared thermography (IRT). This technology allowed them to visualize a boat-like structure beneath the ground.
Interestingly, this site, known as Durupınar, is located just 30 kilometers south of Mount Ararat. It gained fame in 1948 when heavy rains and an earthquake cleared soil layers, revealing a formation resembling a ship.
Scientific Debate and Future Plans
While many geologists assert that Durupınar is purely a natural phenomenon, the researchers point to several anomalies:
- Dimensions: The length of the formation (about 157 meters) remarkably matches the biblical measurement of "300 cubits."
- Vegetation: The grass growing inside the ark is of a different color and composition than that in surrounding areas, which may indicate the presence of organic materials.
The next step for the research team will be excavation. They plan to take samples from the depths of the structure and deploy specialized cameras into the discovered tunnels to obtain definitive answers.
