Afghanistan's armed forces have initiated operations in response to Pakistani airstrikes, announced Khalid bin Walidi, spokesman for the 201st Army Corps. "Counterattacks by Afghan government forces against Pakistani troops began at 8:00 PM local time in the eastern Afghan provinces of Nangarhar and Kunar. Already, three enemy positions have been seized," he told RTA national television.
According to the spokesman for Afghanistan's Ministry of Defense, the operation has commenced in several directions, including Khost, Paktia, Nuristan, and several other regions.
