Medical Airplane Crashes in India, All Passengers Confirmed Dead

A medical airplane belonging to Redbird Airways, a Beechcraft C90 type, has crashed in the Jharkhand state of India, resulting in the deaths of all seven people on board. The Hindu reported this information citing official sources.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) of India announced that the aircraft departed from Ranchi on February 23 heading to Delhi. According to law enforcement agencies, the plane crashed in the Kasaria Panchayat area of Chatra district in Jharkhand.

On board were two pilots and five passengers. Preliminary reports indicate that the aircraft requested permission to change its route shortly after takeoff due to adverse weather conditions. Communication with the aircraft was lost shortly thereafter. The plane was transporting a middle-aged man who had sustained severe burns.

Rescue services have located the crash site. Among the deceased are the two pilots, two medical staff members, the patient, and two accompanying individuals.
