Support for Individuals with Unrecoverable Loans
The acceptance of applications continues within the framework of the support program for individuals with unrecoverable loans. The Armenian Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs reports that as of January 30, 2026, a total of 8,276 individuals have benefited from the program, of whom 1,792 have had their loans completely forgiven.
It is also noted that 26 percent of the beneficiaries did not have formal employment in the months leading up to the program. For the 1,792 beneficiaries who had their loans fully written off, approximately 390 million AMD has been allocated from the income taxes they paid to cover their obligations.
Until the end of December 2025, a total of 1.3 billion AMD will be allocated as loan repayment support from the income tax deducted from the beneficiaries' salaries.
Individuals whose total principal amount of all loans does not exceed 1 million AMD at the time of application and have been classified as unrecoverable for at least 3 years can be beneficiaries of the program.
