Papoyan Has Statement Regarding Online Taxi Drivers
The Minister of Economy, Gevorg Papoyan, announced that he has initiated discussions with the Central Bank, the Union of Banks, and Yandex regarding the financing of taxi drivers who pay taxes and operate transparently. Other taxi platforms can also join the discussion.
“If there are taxi drivers who do not have classified loans, pay taxes from their activities, and have been unable to obtain loans corresponding to their transparent income, I urge them to contact the company serving them, for example, Yandex, which will then pass the data on to us for case-by-case discussions with banks,” wrote Minister Gevorg Papoyan on his Facebook page.
It should be noted that for several consecutive days, drivers of the Yandex taxi service have been holding protests, primarily reporting issues related to their unregistered status.
