Food Safety Authority to Inspect Russian Grain Imported via Azerbaijan
The Russian grain imported into Armenia through Azerbaijan will be inspected by the Food Safety Inspection Body. Anush Harutyunyan, head of the Information, Advisory and Public Relations Department of the Food Safety Authority (FSB), informed Aysor.am about this.
“Regardless of the route taken, this is a EAEU cargo, sampling will be conducted and sent for phytosanitary examination, as is the case with similar cargo imported to Armenia,” she stated.
Harutyunyan noted that the cargo transportation is between EAEU countries and no border control is implemented. “However, when it reaches the place where it needs to be unloaded, our inspectors take samples and send them for laboratory examination. If there are any issues, they will be reported,” she added.
