'The Iranian Red Crescent organization has expressed willingness to send rescue teams and humanitarian aid to support Armenians affected by the floods,' the statement said.
On May 26, heavy rains caused the Debed River (in the Alaverdi and Akhtala regions, near the border with Georgia) and the Aghstaf River (in the Ijevan region) to overflow. As a result of the flooding, four people have died, several hundred have been evacuated, and there has been significant damage to roads and infrastructure.
