Pashinyan Meets with Vatican Secretary of State
A meeting took place between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of the Vatican.
The interlocutors emphasized the high-level dialogue between the Government of Armenia and the Holy See, expressing confidence that it will continue to develop and strengthen.
Both sides underlined that the dialogue between Armenia and the Vatican is based not only on Christian values but also on shared historical and spiritual heritage and similar approaches to the challenges of the modern world.
The Vatican Secretary of State expressed confidence that bilateral relations will deepen and be fortified during the papacy of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV.
Prime Minister Pashinyan reiterated that it was an honor for him to participate in the canonization ceremony of Archbishop Ignatius Maloyan, adding that his life reminds us that even in times of suffering, faith and courage can overcome difficulties.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the establishment of peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, emphasizing the importance of addressing humanitarian issues. They also touched upon various issues on the bilateral agenda.
