Details from the Trump-Putin Meeting
U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin did not have an interpreter during their meeting at the airport. This was reported by The New York Times. Putin and Trump left the airport in the same car, an unusual sight for the leaders of two superpowers.
The leaders arrived at the summit in Alaska accompanied by delegations from both countries. Their closed-door meeting has already begun. At the start of the negotiations, they refrained from making statements to the press and did not answer media questions.
The meeting commenced in a narrow format, with delegation members joining the leaders later on. The planned personal meeting between Trump and Putin has turned into a “three-plus-three” format meeting. The American delegation included Secretary of State Marco Rubio and special envoy Steve Witkoff, while the Russian side was represented by Foreign Minister Lavrov and Presidential Assistant Ushakov.
