Ktrich Nersisyan Will Realize He Must Vacate the Residence: Alen Simonyan

"They cannot do anything; they think they are God, representatives of God. They believe that the church is their father's house, that they brought it from their home, but they are gravely mistaken." This was stated by the President of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, during a conversation with journalists regarding the possible usurpation of power by the clergy.

"Let them think about what is happening around them. At this moment, two high-ranking clergymen are accused of the gravest criminal offenses," said the Speaker of the Parliament.

According to Simonyan, they do not have a candidate for the catholicos position. "No, we do not have a candidate. As for the rest, I am confident that Ktrich Nersisyan, if not today, if not tomorrow, then very soon will realize that he must vacate the residence so that a new catholicos can be elected. Nevertheless, I believe that he will come to that wisdom at some point. I cannot say whether he will go voluntarily or if, say, the bishops beside him or his conscience will tell him, or God will somehow give him a sign, saying, 'Brother, it is shameful, don't do this,'" he stated.
