Changes in the Transportation Payment System
The paper QR code ticket for public transportation in Yerevan, initially intended for infrequent users, has become popular among daily commuters as well. However, the QR code is not always printed clearly on the paper, often leading to difficulties in being scanned by the devices, creating inconveniences for passengers and causing various technical and operational issues that hinder the reliable and smooth functioning of the system.
Taking into account technological and ecological factors, from August 1, the paper variant will gradually be phased out, replaced by more convenient and reliable solutions:
- Transport Card
- Contactless Bank Card (from all banks in Armenia, except VTB)
- Mobile Application
