City Hall on Court Ruling Regarding 'Red Lines'
I want to inform that on May 23, the court made a decision to invalidate several provisions of the council's decision regarding the local fees established for the red lines in Yerevan. This was announced to Auroranews by the spokesperson of the Yerevan Mayor, Hayk Kostanyan, in response to a Facebook post by Armenak Danielyan, a member of the 'Mother Armenia' faction of the Yerevan Council.
'At the same time, I inform that the city hall will appeal this decision. I would like to notify citizens, as some of our opposition council colleagues, specifically from the 'Mother Armenia' faction, claim in their posts that citizens can park for free in Zone A and B and that they do not need to purchase any types of packages. I want to inform that such statements are misleading because the court ruling clearly states that the decision comes into legal force one month after its publication, and until the specified time frame for the decision to come into force, it can be appealed for reconsideration. In fact, within the one-month period, the Yerevan City Hall will appeal this decision, and until the judicial act is finalized, citizens must continue to pay for parking in Zones A and B,' said Kostanyan.
