Double Collapse Risk: Landslide on Vanadzor-Alaverdi Highway
On May 24, at 21:27, the Crisis Management Center of the Lori Regional Rescue Service received a call reporting that a landslide had occurred on the Vanadzor-Alaverdi highway, requiring the assistance of rescuers.
A firefighting rescue team from the Ministry of Emergency Situations was dispatched to the scene. It was determined that a landslide approximately 25 meters long and about 3 meters wide had occurred at the 42nd kilometer of the Vanadzor-Alaverdi highway, affecting one lane of the road. Currently, cracks are present and there is a risk of a double collapse, making the highway one-way accessible.
Rescuers have cordoned off the area, while officers from the police patrol service have restricted traffic.
