Around 650 Buildings Flooded Due to Flooding in England
Heavy rains in various regions of England have resulted in flooding, affecting nearly 650 buildings, according to a statement posted on the British government's website by the Environment Agency on Friday. Earlier reports indicated that approximately 200 buildings had been flooded in several regions of England.
Rescue teams are pumping water from the streets of the town of Glocester, which has been severely affected by flooding in southwestern Poland. “The heavy rains over the last 24 hours have led to river swelling and surface water flooding in Central England, Yorkshire, and the Northeast. The rains and storms have caused flooding across nearly 650 properties,” the statement reads.
Environment Agency staff continue to work in the field to respond to the storm and support local authorities. Earlier on Friday, ITV reported that some roads and rail lines in various regions of England had been flooded, leading to disruptions in transport services. Additionally, the home stadium of Telford United Football Club was also flooded.
