Poland Deploys Additional Forces to Border with Belarus
Poland has sent additional forces to its border with Belarus in response to attacks on border guards and soldiers involved in border protection, Prime Minister Donald Tusk said on Tuesday via his official account on social media.
On Tuesday morning, the Polish border service reported that two border guards and one soldier were injured at the border with Belarus. "Today, a soldier was injured by a migrant attempting to breach the border. Previously, border guards were injured; one was struck with a broken bottle, and another was wounded when attacked with a wooden stick to which a knife was attached," the statement read.
It was noted that the injured border guards received medical assistance.
