Armenian National Team Drops in FIFA Rankings
The Armenian national football team has dropped one position in the FIFA rankings and now occupies the 95th place. Under the leadership of Alexander Petrakov, the team played two friendly matches last month, losing at home to Kosovo (0-1) and away to the Czech Republic (1-2).
There have been changes in the top ten as well. The rankings continue to be led by the world champion Argentina, followed by the world runner-up France. Belgium has surpassed England to climb to third place. Also in the top ten are Brazil, Portugal, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, and Croatia.
The Armenian team will play its next friendly matches in the summer, facing Slovenia (June 4, Ljubljana) and Kazakhstan (June 7, Yerevan). Slovenia is ranked 57th in the FIFA rankings, while Kazakhstan is in 103rd place.
