Ararat-Armenia's Opponents in the Europa League Revealed

The draw for the league stage of the 2026/27 Europa League has taken place, revealing all eight opponents of Ararat-Armenia.

For the first time in the history of Armenian football, Ararat-Armenia will compete in the league stage of the Europa League, playing at home against AZ Alkmaar, Prague's Sparta, Celje, and NEC.

The away matches include AC Milan, Salzburg, Jagiellonia, and Torreense.

Ararat-Armenia secured its place in the league stage by overcoming the Romanian side Universitatea Craiova in the playoffs.

The 36 participants in the league stage have been divided into four pots, with each team drawn to face two opponents from each pot—one at home and the other away.

Prior to the draw, several well-known European clubs, including Juventus, Benfica, Bayer, Lyon, Marseille, and Celtic, were among the potential opponents for Ararat-Armenia. Ultimately, the Armenian club was paired with AZ Alkmaar and Italian giants AC Milan from the first pot.

Interestingly, the anticipated match against AC Milan will take place away from Yerevan.

Another intriguing fixture will be against Celje. Ararat-Armenia has already faced the Slovenian club in this European competition and managed to secure victory in Yerevan.

The away encounter with Torreense may hold special significance for Ararat-Armenia's Portuguese head coach Manuel Tulipa, who had expressed a desire to meet with Portuguese clubs Benfica and Torreense in the Europa League. One of his wishes has thus been fulfilled.

Ararat-Armenia will play a total of eight matches in the league stage—four at home and four away. The exact dates and times of the matches will be announced separately by UEFA.
