Pashinyan, Aliyev, and Erdogan to Participate in Bishkek Summit

Seventeen state leaders, including Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, will participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Bishkek, as reported by TASS, citing the Kyrgyz President's press service.

Other participants include UN Secretary-General António Guterres, CIS Secretary-General Sergey Lebedev, CSTO Secretary-General Stanislav Zas, Chairman of the EAEU Board Bekitzhan Sagintaev, and Secretary-General of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) Kairat Sarybay.

The agenda will cover international and regional issues, further development of the SCO, as well as cooperation in political, trade, transport, digital, environmental, and humanitarian fields. As a result of the summit, a declaration dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the organization is expected to be adopted, along with a series of decisions and thematic statements.

In an expanded SCO Plus format, participants will discuss the role of the UN and international law, sustainable development, and the expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation.

The summit of the Council of Heads of State of SCO member countries will be held in Bishkek from August 31 to September 1.
