Araghchin on the Use of US Military Bases in Japan

The peace-loving residents of Japan must demand clarifications from their government regarding the situation surrounding the deployment of American F-16 fighters at the US Air Force base "Misawa" in northern Japan, which are reportedly being used to strike Iran. This was announced by Abbas Araghchin, Iran’s Foreign Minister, to the Japanese Kyodo news agency, as reported by TASS.

"Peace-loving Japanese people should ask their government for explanations about America's crimes," he stated.

Araghchin emphasized that the use of these F-16s to strike Iran demonstrates that the United States employs its military bases not for the defense of the host country, but to pursue an aggressive policy.

Earlier, the UK Defence Journal reported that F-16 fighters from the American "Misawa" airbase in Aomori Prefecture had participated in operations against Iran and had been moved to the Middle East in March and April. Japanese officials have yet to comment on this publication.
