Turkish Man Sentenced to 2.5 Years in Prison for Brutal Killing of Cat
An Istanbul court has sentenced local resident Ibrahim Keloghlan to two and a half years in prison for killing a stray cat named Eros.
This marks a record punishment in Turkey for cruelty towards animals. The man brutally kicked the cat at the entrance of his home, resulting in the animal's death. Initially, a lighter sentence was contemplated, but local residents protested outside the courthouse.
