Closed and Difficult-to-Navigate Roads
The Rescue Service reports that there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads within the territory of Armenia.
Until February 15, the section of the M-6 highway from Vanadzor to Alaverdi, between kilometers 38-40, will be closed for buses and trucks with trailers or semi-trailers due to road renovation works. An alternative route will operate through the city of Noyemberyan.
In the Aragatsotn province, roads from the "Amberd" high mountain meteorological station to Amberd Fortress and Kar Lake are closed.
The Vardenyats Pass is passable for trucks with trailers provided that snow chains are used. The Stepanavan bends are difficult to navigate for trucks.
Regarding Lars, according to information received from the emergency departments of Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs and Russia's Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars highway is closed for trucks. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
