Ministerial Meeting of Landlocked Developing Countries Ends with Statement
On December 15, the ministerial meeting titled “Enhancing Equal, Affordable, and Inclusive Transport Connectivity for Sustainable and Resilient Economies” concluded in Yerevan. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.
In a closing speech at the final session of the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan expressed confidence that the discussions held within the framework of the ministerial meeting would be significant for discussing the current state and prospects of cooperation among landlocked developing and transit countries, bodies and agencies of the UN system, development partners, and international financial institutions.
As a result of the ministerial meeting, the Yerevan Declaration was adopted. Deputy Foreign Minister Vahe Gevorgyan presented the key provisions of the document, which affirms a broad range of sectoral issues related to transport connectivity and emphasizes the role of equal and inclusive transport communications in promoting peace, security, and cultural ties among peoples.
