The West is Seeking Mercenaries in the CIS for its Subversive Activities, Says Narishkin
The West is searching for mercenaries to engage in fighting on behalf of Kyiv, as well as to conduct subversive operations in Russia and other CIS countries. This statement was made by Sergey Narishkin, the head of Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service, during the 19th meeting of security and intelligence agency heads from CIS countries held in Minsk.
“Our agencies' coordinated efforts to identify individuals and organizations involved in the process of recruiting mercenaries among the citizens of CIS states and foreigners, with the aim of sending them to fight for the Kyiv regime and participate in combat operations in other 'hot spots', has become of particular importance,” Narishkin emphasized.
According to Narishkin, the CIS must undertake preventive measures against threats. He noted that systematic work is needed to uncover the routes for transferring mercenaries to conflict zones, as well as to prevent potential infiltration into Russia and other cooperating nations.
