Search Efforts for 40 Workers Trapped in Tunnel Collapse Halted in India
Search efforts to rescue 40 workers trapped in a tunnel collapse in India have been halted due to a landslide that has persisted for three days. The tunnel is being constructed in the mountainous northern state of Uttarakhand, as reported by NDTV.
Rescue operations were initially scheduled to extract the workers from the debris on November 15. It was anticipated that a drilling machine would create a pathway for the trapped individuals to exit the tunnel. However, the new landslide has forced authorities to suspend operations.
Currently, 40 construction workers remain trapped beneath the rubble.
