Over 1 Million People Have Fled Gaza Strip
More than one million residents of the Gaza Strip have been forced to leave their homes and have become internally displaced persons, reports the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, as conveyed by RIA Novosti.
"More than one million people, nearly half of the total population of the Gaza Strip, have become internally displaced," the agency stated in its announcement.
It was noted that approximately 600,000 internally displaced individuals are located in the southern part of the Gaza Strip. Of these, about 400,000 are in facilities managed by the Palestinian Refugee Agency, which exceeds the agency's capacity to provide assistance.
