Turkey Plans Meeting to Resolve Ukraine Conflict Without Russia, Bloomberg Reports

Turkish authorities have initiated a significant international meeting this October aimed at resolving the ongoing military conflict in Ukraine, Bloomberg reports, citing sources familiar with the situation.

According to Bloomberg, participants at the meeting will discuss "ways to achieve long-term peace in Ukraine." National security advisors from various world leaders are expected to participate in the consultations. Among the anticipated attendees is Jake Sullivan, the U.S. National Security Advisor under President Joe Biden.

There are no plans to invite representatives from the Russian government to this meeting, agency sources clarify.

The previous similar international gathering focused on the peaceful resolution of the Ukrainian crisis took place in August of this year in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. That meeting included representatives from 42 countries, who discussed President Volodymyr Zelensky's 'peace formula,' which calls for the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine based on the borders of 1991. No representatives from Russia were invited to Saudi Arabia; the Russian Foreign Ministry publicly labeled the meeting a "attempt to create an anti-Russian coalition."
