Hajiyev States Azerbaijan Seeks Peace and Possibly Friendship with Armenia in the Future
Azerbaijan desires peace and, in the future, perhaps even friendship with Armenia, stated Hikmet Hajiyev, an advisor to President Ilham Aliyev.
Just a day earlier, Politico published an interview with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, in which he confirmed recognition of Nagorno-Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan and noted that 'now the international community must ensure that ethnic cleansing does not occur in the region.'
'Azerbaijan wants peace. We seek restoration, reconciliation, and perhaps one day even friendship with our neighbor,' Hajiyev said in the article published by Politico.
