New Temperature Record in Turkey for the First Time in History
The temperature in Turkey has reached a historic high of 49.5 degrees Celsius for the first time ever. This announcement was made by the head of the ministry, Mehmed Ozasekin, on his microblog, as reported by RIA Novosti.
The new temperature record was set in the city of Sarıcak in Eskişehir province. ‘According to the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, a new temperature record has been registered on August 15 in Turkey, with a high of 49.5 degrees in the village of Sarıcakaya in Eskişehir province,’ Mehmed Ozasekin stated.
It is noteworthy that the previous record was set in July 2021 in the city of Şırnak, where the temperature reached +49.1 degrees.
