Trump Pleads Not Guilty to All Charges
Former U.S. President Donald Trump arrived at a Washington court for hearings regarding the January 6, 2021, Capitol insurrection. Trump has pleaded not guilty to all four counts of the charges against him, according to AFP.
He has been released under the condition of appearing at the next hearing, which is scheduled for August 28. The grand jury has accused Trump of conspiring to defraud the United States, tampering with witness testimony, conspiracy against citizens' rights, and attempting to obstruct an investigation. The inquiry believes he had six accomplices.
The latest charges against the former president were filed on August 2. He faces up to five years in prison on two of the counts and up to 20 years on the other two. This marks the third case brought against Donald Trump; he was previously charged in June for keeping classified documents at one of his residences in Florida.
