PHOTOS. Intense Fire Continued for Three Hours: Edmond Marukyan's Statement
Azerbaijan opened fire on vehicles and infrastructure related to a factory being constructed with Armenian-American investments in the sovereign territory of Armenia. This was announced by the Special Envoy of Armenia, Edmond Marukyan, on his Twitter microblog, where he also shared photos of the damage caused by Azerbaijani fire.
“The intense fire continued for three hours. This is a glaring behavior that contradicts all efforts towards the peace process and is a gross violation of all obligations to refrain from using force or even threatening. We strongly condemn this provocative behavior and urge our international partners to take action against Azerbaijan, including sanctions and direct calls to refrain from such destructive approaches. The silence of the international community or the absence of targeted punitive measures against Azerbaijan may lead to new aggression against democratic Armenia,” said Marukyan, tagging U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, President of the European Council Charles Michel, and French President Emmanuel Macron in his post.
Earlier, it was reported that on June 13, Azerbaijani armed forces once again resorted to the use of force, opening fire on the positions of the Armenian Armed Forces and civilian objects located near the community of Yeraskh in the Republic of Armenia.
