Azerbaijan Will Be the First Country Erdogan Visits If Elected, Says Cavusoglu
Azerbaijan will be the first country that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan visits if he wins the elections. This was stated by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu in an interview with Azerbaijani media, according to RIA Novosti.
“Is there any need to ask? How does it happen every time? We visit two countries: Azerbaijan and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus,” he said.
It is worth recalling that in the first round of the presidential elections held on May 14, Erdogan achieved a victory, gaining 49.52 percent of the votes. Meanwhile, his opposition rival Kemal Kilicdaroglu received 44.88 percent. The second round of the presidential elections will take place on May 28.
