Interior Minister and Police Chief Send Law Enforcement Forces to Syunik: What’s the Reason?
Today, on the initiative of the Minister of Internal Affairs Vahe Ghazaryan and the order of the Chief of Police, Major General Aram Hovhannisyan, a group of officers from the Criminal Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and special forces have been deployed to the Syunik province, as reported by SHAMSHYAN.com.
“Operational information has been received at the Criminal Police Headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs indicating that around noon, a group of individuals assaulted Alik Hovhannisyan, the administrative head of the village of Bardzravan within the enlarged community of Goris. Currently, police have taken control of the village and are aware of who the main 'heroes' are,” the website notes.
According to G. Shamshyan's sources, among the alleged suspects are Vahram Avagyan, the son of the former village head, Arthur Tevosyan, who is contesting the position of village head, and a criminal world representative known as “Zaki,” Tigran Harutyunyan, along with more than 10 other individuals. Some circumstances of the incident are not being disclosed at this time,” the website stated.
