Investigative Committee Finds Mikayel Arzumanyan Guilty for the Fall of Shushi and 'Arega' Heights
The former commander of the Artsakh Defense Army, Mikayel Arzumanyan, has been found guilty in connection with the fall of Shushi and the 'Arega' heights. The Investigative Committee announced that the preliminary investigation is concluded. This was revealed in an interview with Gor Abrahamyan, the spokesperson for the Committee.
According to Abrahamyan, Arzumanyan has been charged with two instances related to wartime operations. He stated, “The cases pertain to the incidents regarding the fall of Shushi and the 'Arega' heights. In other words, it involves his role in the loss of these two locations.”
The Committee has also announced that the preliminary investigation into the criminal case regarding Arzumanyan has been completed and forwarded to the prosecutor's office.
Last September, the Committee declared that Arzumanyan had been arrested. It was noted that he was charged with being negligent in carrying out his official duties while organizing the defense of Shushi and neighboring areas, which ‘resulted in severe consequences due to his carelessness, allowing the enemy's armed forces to fully control the city of Shushi and its surroundings, leading to losses in our units.’
