Countdown to the Start of the European Weightlifting Championship Has Begun

The countdown to the start of the European Weightlifting Championship has begun, with just 30 days remaining. The head of the Office of the Prime Minister, Araik Harutyunyan, and Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, Karen Giloyan, attended the ceremony.

The championship will take place from April 15 to 23 at the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex in Yerevan. Athletes from around 40 countries, totaling over 500 competitors, are expected to participate.

In response to a journalist's question about whether Azerbaijan will participate in the tournament, Karen Giloyan stated that there is an application for the participation of six athletes. Concurrently, Azerbaijani media reports that Azerbaijani athletes wish to come to Armenia.

A humorous incident was also captured by cameras: a dog on Northern Avenue did not seem to appreciate the symbol of the weightlifting championship. Police had to remove the dog from the area. This information was also reported by Sputnik Armenia.
