Long Life to the Pontiff: Citizens Welcomed Karekin II in Front of the Court

“Long life to the Pontiff, long days to the Father of the Armenians,” citizens sang in front of the court. His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, arrived at the courthouse, where he joined the citizens in a collective prayer.

Earlier, we reported that the Catholicos and bishops would attend the first court session. This was confirmed by attorney Ara Zohrabyan.

“On August 7, at 16:00 in the first-instance general jurisdiction court of Armavir province (Vagharshapat, 15 St. Gregory the Illuminator, courtroom No. 1), the first preliminary hearing of the criminal case involving His Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians, and six bishops from the Supreme Spiritual Council will take place. The case will be presided over by Judge Hakob Manukyan,” he stated.
