Fish Rain Falls in Australia
In Australia, locals have witnessed a phenomenon known as fish rain, according to the Daily Mail. The fish literally fell from the sky, landing on people's heads.
Residents of a community in the Tanami Desert were greatly surprised by this natural event. When it began to rain, fish started to pour down from the sky along with the water, still alive.
“The children were collecting the fish and keeping them in jars or water bottles,” explained local residents.
Experts believe that the fish rain is caused by a tornado that passes through rivers or lakes. The strong current of air sucks up the fish from their habitats and then drops them elsewhere.
The last time such a rare weather event was recorded in Australia was in March 2010.
