Shooting in Georgia: 5 Dead, 5 Injured

Five people have been killed and five others injured in a shooting incident in Georgia. This was reported by Говорит Москва.

The incident occurred in the city of Sagarejo. According to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Vakhtang Gomelauri, for reasons yet unknown, a man barricaded himself in an apartment where he was with his son and began shooting towards a hospital from the balcony. Four residents of the same building died on the spot, and a law enforcement officer was also killed by the gunfire.

When special forces entered the apartment, the perpetrator, born in 1974, was found lying on the bed with an automatic weapon nearby. Several grenades were also discovered at the scene and were neutralized with the help of bomb disposal experts.

The head of Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that the attacker had committed suicide. An investigation is underway into premeditated murder under aggravating circumstances, as well as illegal acquisition, storage, and carrying of weapons and ammunition.
