Medvedev Warns That Russia's Defeat in Ukraine Could Trigger Nuclear War
Russia's Deputy Chairman of the Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, believes that the West's desire for Russia's defeat in Ukraine could lead to irreversible consequences, including the triggering of a nuclear war.
In a statement on his Telegram channel ahead of a meeting of NATO countries at Ramstein Air Base, where the supply of new heavy weapons to Ukraine is expected to be discussed, Medvedev noted that Western politicians seeking Russia's defeat are unaware of the potential repercussions.
He concluded, "The defeat of a nuclear power in a conventional war could spark a nuclear war." Medvedev emphasized, "Nuclear-armed states have not been defeated in major conflicts that determine their fate. This should be obvious to everyone."
