Drones Attack Turkish Ship in the Black Sea
The Turkish ship M/V RMS TEAM, operated by Akkon Lines, was struck by a drone in the Black Sea, resulting in a fire on board the vessel. Eleven crew members were rescued, while one person is considered missing, as reported by the transportation portal lojiport.com.
"The M/V RMS TEAM was attacked by a drone in the Black Sea. A fire broke out on the ship, eleven crew members were rescued, and the search for one sailor continues," stated the announcement.
It was noted that after receiving the alarm signal, a nearby ship rushed to assist and rescued the eleven crew members. Another sailor is still considered missing. Information about the incident has been forwarded to the relevant search and rescue services.
According to Lojiport.com, after the evacuation of the crew, the fire spread to the living quarters and the engine room of the ship. Later, the fire also spread to the container storage area.
"The company reported that, based on the available information, both the ship and the cargo on board can be considered completely damaged," the publication stated.
