Attempt of Armed Infiltration at Iran's Border Prevented: Iranian General
Iranian border guards in the Saravan region have thwarted an attempt by an armed group to infiltrate the country, during which one of the attackers was killed. This information was reported by the representative of the Iranian police, Brigadier General Said Montazer al-Mahdin, according to Mehr.
According to him, the soldiers of the Saravan border battalion noticed the movement of an armed group that presumably intended to infiltrate Iran and carry out a sabotage operation. The border guards blocked the path of the group, resulting in an armed confrontation.
As a result, one member of the group was killed, while the others retreated, returning across the border. During the scan of the area, Iranian security forces discovered and seized weapons and communication equipment.
