Tehran Receives New Security Proposals from Neighbors: Ghalibaf

The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf, has announced that Tehran is receiving numerous requests from neighboring countries regarding the establishment of new mechanisms for security and economic cooperation in the region. He made this statement on August 22 on the X social media platform.

According to Ghalibaf, mistrust among the countries of the region towards American security guarantees has intensified due to Washington's policies, which he linked to support for Israel.

“We have received many messages from neighboring countries regarding the formation of new security mechanisms and economic cooperation in the region. The United States has put the security of each of its allies at such risk—due to terrorism and the complete disregard for their interests in favor of Israel—that for a short period, they consider their very existence to be threatened. It is precisely the independent order formed by the countries of the region that will truly ensure peace and security,” Ghalibaf wrote.
