Second Minister Resigns from Truss Government in One Week in the UK
The UK Home Secretary Suella Braverman has resigned, becoming the second minister to leave Prime Minister Liz Truss's government in just one week. This was reported by The Guardian.
According to the newspaper, the former Transport Secretary Grant Shapps, who was a staunch supporter of former Chancellor Rishi Sunak in the contest for prime minister, may replace Braverman as Home Secretary.
Sources indicate that Liz Truss had a discussion with Braverman during a meeting in the House of Commons. The Prime Minister’s office has denied that the Home Secretary was fired, and the reasons for her departure have not been clarified.
